Mango Wood
Sustainability is a key criterion for selection of the work that becomes part of our collection. This is one reason why Mango Wood products feature prominently in the Colour Space range.
Mango trees grow rapidly, reaching maturity in just 7 to 15 years. Once they mature, these trees either stop producing fruit or yield significantly less. To maintain a steady supply of mangoes—one of the delights of being in Thailand—the trees are typically felled after about 15 years and orchards are replanted. As a result, the dense yet lightweight hardwood used in our products is a natural by-product of a sustainable agricultural cycle.
Our mango wood collection includes everything from hand-sculpted vases to food safe table and kitchenware. The beauty and variety of these pieces reflect the skill and creativity of the talented designers and artisans who craft them and the intrinsic beauty of the material from which they are made.
